**Providence is calling a Registered Nurse (RN) - Clinical Research Coordinator (CRC RN) (Medical Research Administration -** **Medical Oncology and Hematology - organize multiple clinical trials running concurrently** **,** **Day shift, 1.0 FTE, 40 hours per week) to Providence Sacred Heart Medical Center in Spokane, Washington. **In this position you will:**
Customer Service: Maintain and promote positive, open and honest interpersonal relationships with customers (physicians, employees, visitors, patients, and other PSHMC publics). Provides high quality service to all customers; focuses on understanding customers needs and follows through. Demonstrates respect for the capabilities, different cultures and or personalities of co-workers and Medical Center publics within the mission/values of PSHMC.
Communication: Promote and demonstrate effective, open and honest written and verbal communication skills.
Self Management: Demonstrate self-management behaviors, which reflect a positive image of PSHMC, following established policies and procedures and promote an efficient, cost effective work environment.
Ownership /Stewardship and Accountability: Demonstrate good stewardship of resources by treating property of customers, Providence Sacred Heart Medical Center and co-workers with care and respect.
Teamwork: Work cooperatively and collaboratively with all levels of staff and other disciplines for problem solving without blaming.
Flexibility: Demonstrate flexibility by readily adapting to different situations to complete work.
Participate in assessments of new study protocols for scientific merit and feasibility.
Assist with regulatory approval process by contributing to the IRB application and informed consent.
Assist with development of study budgets and Medicare Coverage Analysis in collaboration with business manager.
Develop plans and implements recruitment procedures for potential study participants.
Assist study investigator(s) to enroll patients in research studies by actively screening potential candidates, reinforcing explanations of study requirements, and assists with informed consent process.
Utilize the nursing process to monitor research patients for clinical response, compliance with study protocol, and any adverse events.
Coordinate all aspects of study protocols and procedures and assures compliance with all study requirements, e.g., coordinates diagnostic testing, blood draws, follow-up visits and phone calls.
Keep physicians and appropriate individuals informed of laboratory reports, patient progress/ response, and any adverse events through written and oral communication as needed.
Establish and maintain effective working relationships with clinical research staff within Providence and personnel from outside agencies and health care facilities.
Maintain accurate study documentation in accordance with study timelines.
Maintain communication with the sponsor, investigator(s), study team and IRB. CRC develops/maintains effective interpersonal relationships and demonstrates the ability to collaborate effectively with study investigators, physicians, and other health care professionals, supervisors, and co-workers to support research activities.
Follow FDA guidelines for record retention. Reviews records with sponsoring agencys CRA on a periodic basis and at the time of study closure. May also be required to review these documents during announced or un-announced visits by FDA auditors.
Comply with the standards of Good Clinical Practices (CFR 21), Food and Drug Administration (FDA) guidelines, Institutional Review Board (IRB) regulatory guidelines, and ethical principles in implementing research studies.
Act as a clinical resource for his/her area of expertise for other staff.
**Qualifications:**
**Required qualifications for this position include:**
Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN).
Washington State RN license.
Three (3) years clinical background in RN related activities.
**Preferred qualifications for this position include:**
Certification in Clinical Research preferred within two years of hire if full time, or three years if part-time.
Two (2) years clinical research.
