Job ResponsibilitiesAs a Registered Nurse, you will be responsible for delivering the highest quality patient care according to the specific orders of each patient’s individual physician. This will involve, utilizing your knowledge and skills to educate patients and their families on prevention and healthy habits.Additional responsibilities for this health care role include:
1. Utilize nursing skills to assess the health of workers who are referred to OHS by their employers to include all CHI Health employees. Performs testing procedures and initiates appropriate interventions and referrals. Assesses and recognizes symptoms of acute illness and refers for appropriate treatment. Assesses physical and emotional needs of employees and intervenes appropriately. 2. Maintains all client, medical, psychological and drug and alcohol information as confidential according to CHIHealth policy. 3. Serves as a liaison between employees, employers and the medical community. Seeks out experts as necessary to address the needs of the client (employee and employer). 4. Participates in the formulation of medical protocols. Acts as a resource to managers relative to the fitness for duties of employees. 5. Maintains knowledge of OSHA, State Health Department, and principles of Occupational Health medicine, and State regulations related to Workers’ Compensation. Documents all information related to injuries and assists in the processing of Workers’ Compensation claims. 6. Willing to certify as necessary to meet business needs, e.g. Breath Alcohol, NIOSH Spirometry, Hearing conservation, etc. ','!*!Job RequirementsWe are looking for a responsible and compassionate Registered Nurse with top-notch clinical skills, a caring attitude, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision. It is also important to display excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills as well as the ability to effectively educate patients and their families on the in-home healthcare process.Additional requirements for this role include:
Experience 1-3 years of experience as a registered nurse, preferably in an Occupational Health Clinic, Emergency Room, Urgent Care clinic, or General Medical office practice. Past phlebotomy experience preferred. Education/Licensure Licensed as a registered nurse in the state of Nebraska or Iowa, Nebraska and Iowa are compact states so must be licensed in the state in which you reside. BLS or BLS instructor certification is required upon hire. Acceptable credentialing bodies and certifications include the following: American Red Cross: CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer, American Safety and Health Institute: CPR, PRO, must say “Professional Level-with AED”, and American Heart Association: Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers.
