We are currently looking for a Nursing Assistants to join our enthusiastic team on Urology Outpatients at Westmoreland Street. This is a great opportunity for Band 2 development, gain experience and progression to a Band 3 role or for a Bnad 3 to develop their skills in a new environment.
Urology Outpatients is where consultations and procedures take place for complex urological patients our teams include Uro-Oncology, Andrology, Adolescent, Female Functional Restoration, Reconstruction and Stones.
The unit comprises of over 20 rooms including treatment rooms. The treatment rooms are used to carry our various procedures such as Flexible Cystoscopy, Urethral Dilatation and Prostate Biopsies.
We have a strong multidisciplinary team working closely with the medical, surgical, theatres and allied professionals. We can provide excellent opportunities for professional development.
Applicants will have excellent communication skills; have a willingness to receive training in preparing patients for procedures and assist during the procedure.

Main duties of the job
HCA role in oupatients is very varied and allocations within th department change on a daily basis. As part of the role you wil be trained to assist in many different procedure clinics such as,
Flexible cystoscopy
Urethral Dulitatation
Bladder Botox
Prostate Biopsy
Majority of our procedure clinics take place in our specially adapted procedure rooms. The procedure clinics require staff to be trained in ANTT, have a good understanding of infection control.Staff are required to work at a high standard.
A major part of the role is preparing patients for their appointments. This is done by carrying out various tasks such as Flow rates, Urinalysis, Observations and Chaperoning also assisting patinet with any question or quiries.
Good communication skills are a key part of working in Outpatients, staff are required to liase with clinicians, admin staff and other deaprtments.

Knowledge & Qualifications

Essential criteria NVQ Level 3 or equivalent relevant experience / HSC Diploma level 3 Advanced / Higher apprenticeship level 3
Experience and Information Processing

Essential criteria Experience in carrying out assigned duties after training
Working in a team
Working in a Health Care or related setting
Good standard of written and spoken English
Able to use a computer/ learn how to use a computer to record information.
Communication

Essential criteria Able to deal with the public in person and on the ****
