Virginia Mason is seeking a full-time Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our Federal Way Regional Medical Center’s Adult Primary Care team.

Aspects of the role:
Team based approach: Each provider is part of a subset or pod of the larger primary care team. Each pod has physicians, APPs, nurses, medical assistants and administrative supportive to provide excellent care to patients. The ARNP or PA also helps support messages and indirect care. Pods are able to adapt and make changes quickly that fit their team needs.
Integrative primary care model: Virginia Mason has an innovative approach, with embedded pharmacists, social workers and psychiatry providers all part of the primary care team and partnering to provide the best care to patients. In primary care, we provide focused, coordinated care for our patients that have resulted in excellent health outcomes.
Access to ancillary and specialty services: Referral options to over 30 medical specialties within Virginia Mason with collegial and responsive results.

Washington State Registered Nurse License and an Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner License are required for this job.
Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) and National Provider Identifier (NPI) numbers may be required depending on the position, as well as prescriptive authority.
Advanced background in nursing; an understanding of anatomy, physiology, histology, and pharmacology; and strong interpersonal and counseling skills.
Certification by specialty area as well as work experience in specialty area may be required, depending on the position.

This position requires Certification as a Physician Assistant with prescriptive authority in the State of Washington.

Virginia Mason Federal Way Medical Center offers a full range of adult primary care and a wide range of specialty care services, including: bariatric surgery, cardiology, gastroenterology (GI), general and plastic surgery, gynecology, HIV/AIDS care, internal medicine, medical oncology, ophthalmology, optometry, orthopedics, otolaryngology (ear, nose and throat—ENT), physical therapy, podiatry, treatment for headaches, urgent care, urology and wound care. Other services include laboratory facilities, X-ray, mammography, bone density scanning, ultrasound, CT scans, MRI and a pharmacy.
The City of Federal Way is located 24 miles south of the city of Seattle, making it an ideal suburban location in which to live. The city has a large retail core and is home to many businesses including Weyerhaeuser, the largest private owner of softwood timberland in the world.
