TITLE OF POSITION: LEAD CERTIFIED NURSING ASSISTANT
TITLE OF IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR: Director of Nursing
JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY:
The Lead Certified Nursing Assistant is an integral member of the Qualicare team and works under the supervision of the Director of Nursing, and the administrator, and performs personal care services as necessary to meet the client’s needs. The Lead Certified Nursing Assistant position will be a full-time, salaried position, working in both the home and office setting. Hours of the day and days of the week needed will vary based on the needs of the clients and the office. The Certified Nursing Assistant is responsible for client personal care and documentation, and training, monitoring, and mentoring other Certified Nursing Assistants to do the same. The Lead Certified Nursing Assistant will also be utilized in retention, recruitment, scheduling, employee HR file organization, and other office tasks.
The Lead Certified Nursing Assistant will be assigned in a manner that promotes quality, continuity and safety of a client’s care.
JOB FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsibilities of the Lead Certified Nursing Assistant include, but are not limited to, the following:
1. Provide client care as directed by the Director of Nursing or registered nurse supervisor.
2. Provide office support as directed by the Director of Nursing and Administrator.
3. Maintain the highest professional and courteous customer service standards at all times.
4. Provide personal care in the clients home and document the care.
5. Follow principles of infection control and Universal Precautions.
6. Identifies and participates in performance improvement activities.
7. Assist in providing a safe environment and promote quality patient care through adherence to established policies, procedures and standards.
Job Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS
• High school diploma or GED.
• Ability to work in office setting.
• Professional and personable attitude.
• Certification as a CNA in Georgia
• Minimum of one (3) years of documented experience.
• Current CPR.
• Negative TB skin test or chest x-ray.
• Licensed driver with automobile that is insured in accordance with the organizations requirements.
• Self-directing with the ability to work with little direct supervision.
• Empathy for the needs of the client.
• Demonstrate effective oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to express spoken and/or written ideas in English.
• Treats clients, staff and the public with courtesy, and presents a positive public image.
• Works as a team member.
• Ensures confidentiality and security of the client’s medical information.
JOB LIMITATIONS: The Lead Certified Nursing Assistant will not function in any manner viewed as the practice of nursing according to the State’s Nurse Practice Act.
ENVIRONMENT, PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT OR PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Working Conditions: Contact with clients in a wide variety of circumstances and health care needs. May be required to respond to an emergency situation. Travel required with mileage reimbursement.
Position includes tasks that have the potential for exposure to blood and other potentially infectious material (OPIM) such as body fluids and tissues.
Personal Protective Equipment: May include gloves, mask, eye protection, and disposable outer covering.
Physical Requirements: Must be able to stand walk, squat, bend, kneel, reach, twist, push and pull. Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds.
