This will be a Monday-Friday schedule with no weekends or holidays!! This position coordinates all aspects of structural heart procedures, as well as provides support to the department in the day to day functioning of the cardiology and structural heart program including patient care and research coordination.
The role functions as a coordinator incorporating all elements of Virginia Mason’s Nursing Professional Practice Model into caring for patients from initial referral, consult, procedure, inpatient hospital stay post-procedure, transition back to the referring physician, and through one year post procedure follow up and date collection for quality tracking purposes.

The responsibilities of the Registered Nurse in this role includes:
Performs pre-structural heart procedure duties such as communicating with patients, referring physicians, and scheduling team on the status of patients within the structural heart process. Coordinating and facilitating quality management of a cardiac-based outpatient population across the continuum of care.
Providing skilled triage and assessment, education, collaboration and coordination of healthcare and community resources,
Educating patients and caregivers, providers, and team members on the procedures, what to expect before, during, and after, and instructions for home care and follow up.
Providing patient advice and education throughout the continiumn of care
Assisting in prioritizing daily work of the clinic
Providing direction to team members, including oversight of Medical Assistant’s clinical competency.

Current Washington State licensure as an RN
CPR certification is required every two years
Bachelors of Science of Nursing
Strong patient assessment skills, ability to work collaboratively in team setting, current working knowledge of electronic medical records.
Ideal candidates will have a strong background in cardiology, excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
