Responsibilities

Ascension St. Vincent's is looking for an APP to join our Interventional Cardiology Department.

This is a great opportunity for the right candidate to provide medical services to patients at Ascension St. Vincent's Cardiology in Birmingham, AL.

In-office, Interventional Cardiology with a fantastic group

Responsibilities:

Evaluates and treats patients with appropriate medical diagnostic and treatment skills.

Recommends, participates in, and works to ensure the success of efforts to improve cost effectiveness and quality of care provided to patients.

Accepts patient referrals from other physicians. Acts as admitting, attending and/or consulting physician for patients who require hospitalization for primary medical diagnoses, depending on needs of patients, medical staff and hospital.

Participates in academic programs (e.g. medical education and research) as requested.

Provides appropriate documentation that meets insurance company requirements; appeal all denials in a timely manner.

Participates in inpatient and outpatient consultation for specialty, which may include on call schedules.

Requirements

Licensure/Certification/Registration:Required Credential(s):• BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date.• Certified Advanced Practice Nurse Practitioner credentialed from the Alabama Board of Nursing OR certified Physician Assistant credentialed from the Alabama Physician Assistants obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.Preferred Credential(s):• Drug Enforcement Admin credentialed from the Drug Enforcement Administration.

Education:• Master's degree of Nursing required OR Graduate of accredited Physician Assistant program (Master's degree preferred).
