To get into this field, you will need to complete schooling, which can take between nine months and two years to complete. If you have a busy schedule that won't allow you to take traditional schooling, consider taking online classes.
Instructions
Step One: The first thing you will need to do is research the various LPN online programs. Some of the classes you will have to study include patient care, biology and chemistry. You can take these classes online, as long as the institution is accredited by your state. Without accreditation, you won't be able to obtain a state license to work. You can check with the board of nursing to see if it is a recognized school.
Step Two: Next, you will need to decide whether or not you want to attend schooling full time or part time. Many LPN online programs offer classes that work around your schedule. If you want to take classes full time, you will need to set aside time to study. Just because the class is online doesn't mean it isn't just as serious.
Step Three: When you apply and sign up for the online classes for licensed practical nurse training, make sure that you study hard and pay close attention to the instructor. Once you complete the course, you will be required to take a state licensing exam. Ask your instructor about anything you don't understand to ensure that you will pass the exam.
Step Four: You will need to complete clinical studies; this must be done in person. After you finish your classroom and clinical studies, you're ready to take the NCLEX exam for LPN.
