There is an ever increasing high demand for nurses with skills and it is expected to steadily increase over the years (between now and 2016). It has also been predicted that the nursing field will generate about 600,000 new jobs, along with the hundreds of thousands of job opportunities that are available today.

The need for registered nurses will also grow higher over the next decade. So if you're looking for a career as a registered nurse or another nursing professional, now is the time to begin your studies.

Some of the career paths that you can choose in the nursing profession includes registered nursing. In this field, you are required to obtain a certificate. Before you consider applying to a nursing school, you will have to narrow down to what exactly it is that you want to do in the medical profession. You have over 700 programs to choose from when it comes to bachelor's degrees for nurses, such as the BSN, or bachelor of science in nursing. Then there are 850 programs that are available within community colleges and a variety of other institutions. You can obtain an AN, or an associate's degree in nursing.
