Position Qualifications
To work as a treatment nurse, you will have to study and obtain a state license as a vocational nurse or registered nurse. You will also have to be certified in CPR. Having between one and three years of experience in the nursing field and the ability to stay professional all the time are other qualifications.
Other Qualifications
Some of the other skills you will need to work in this nursing field include communication skills and customer service skills. Being able to multitask and solve problems quickly and professionally are also great skills to have.
Work Environment
When working as a treatment nurse, you will have to follow the rules and regulations of the facility you are working for. You will also have to be able to take the lead in different events and activities. You will have to be able to handle unexpected situations and handle information confidentially, when it comes to the patients and facility.
Duties
The duties of a treatment nurse include bathing, feeding, monitoring, addressing wounds, dressing and providing other care to the patients. They are also required to inform the doctors of any changes seen in the patients.
Additional Duties
Other tasks the nurse has to conduct include communicating with the patients and monitoring their conditions. Managing the medication of the patient based on the doctor’s orders and ensuring that the inventory is stocked (medications and skin care supplies) and reordering anything that runs out.
